Beetlejuice Nail art!

Hello Everyone,

While contemplating on a new manicure design . . . I finally came up with an early Halloween idea.  I recently saw a make-up tutorial done by  Namaisa on facebook, and I was completely blown away, because she brought back awesome memories of one of my favorite movies. . . . BEETLEJUICE!

Beetlejuice, was just one of the greatest scary movies I've ever seen.  I just loved it!

**Shake, shake, shake senora, shake your body line**

In my head, I had originally planned for me to make my own decal of Beetlejuice himself, but I was way too lazy today.  Lol.   So instead, I came up with a beetle . . .with green goo running down.  Get it?!  Beetlejuice?!   *Badum Tiss*

Now don't mind my props!  Lol, I just think it's cool to have something in your hand while taking out the picture . . .my initial idea was sticking my hand in the dirt, seeing the Beetlejuice did pop out of the ground . .  . .  But I'm not for that!

I used Both acrylic paints and Nail Polish for this manicure.

Cartoon Nail Art ~Chowder

For Today's blog and Nail art Contest Entry, I was inspired by Chowder.  Chowder is an awesome, funny and interesting cartoon that is aired on Cartoon Network.  Chowder himself is sooo adorable and funny, I love him so much I could eat him if he was real.
Chowder, A cartoon Aired on Cartoon Network.
First Again, I painted my nails with a white background color, so the orange nail polish could pop out more.  In the process of doing Chowder himself, I ended up doing a faux pas, but was too lazy to fix it.

Without further delay . . .Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you . . . Chowder.

For my index finger I painted on a stack of pancakes, a carrot and two red apples, because most times Chowder is seen with either of those.  As I stated earlier, Chowder himself came out slightly off, but he still looked cute in "person"

I was already told by a good friend of mine "It's not your best work. . ."  But she still loved it.

Animated Character Nails!

Hello Sweet People!!!

For this month, I will be participating in a competition hosted by Mama Nail Frenzy on Facebook called "Mama Nail Frenzy August Contest Cartoon Theme."

Before I did my nails, I thought of different animated Cartoon Characters. . .  I thought if both 3D and 2D, Old and New, Disney and PBS Kids. After a while of thinking, I came up with ENDLESS Options.

I honestly enjoy watching Cartoons and Painting my nails, so that was a PERFECT COMBO!!

Without further delay . .

Did this Mani two days before I took out the picture. .  chipped after some yard work

For the "Cartoon Collage" I first applied a White base then mixed my desired colors and painted them onto my nail as my base color.  There is nothing wrong with applying acrylic paint onto your nails, as long as you applied a base coat to protect your nails from staining.

My Next creation was inspired by a cartoon I used to watch when I was like eight or nine on nickelodeon. Invader Zim.  That was one of my favorite cartoons back in my days.

I decided to paint on "Gir", Invader Zim's pet dog.

The Grey I used for the "Gir" Manicure by  Cristhal
From Cristhal

The grey is from Cristhal, it is a polish made in Italy, and It's hard to find over the internet . . . so I can't link you guys . . *sorry*    It is very easy to apply, and I achieve the opacity with just two awesome coats.  I loved the way the brush just glided to polish over my nail.  I rate it 5/5

Fancy Floral!

Hiya Sweet people!

Today I decided to try my luck with acrylic paint again . . .this time doing a floral design for a giveaway at Possibly Polished.

Before I started, I prepped my nails with my favorite nail care polish. . . Constance Carroll step 1(base coat) and step 2(hardener).

Then I applied three (3) coats of Constance Carroll Diamond Gloss Nail Polish  'Snow White'  The content of this polish was VERY THIN. and to me . . .it was very annoying also!  But in the end it was all worth it.

The Constance Carroll Diamond Nail Polish and acrylic paint were purchased in the Caribbean Island, Barbados. . . This is the first time I ever tried this polish, other than the fact that you need to apply two - three coats, and it is very 'watery', it is still a pretty sweet Polish.

And thus beautiful creation was born.

Three coats of Constance Carroll '372 Snow White."  on each finger.  For my accent nails I painted on some flowers.  I used the colors Green,Blue,Red,Yellow and White, to achieve the colors of the petals and of the middle part.   Then I picked out some tiny hexagon glitters from my Ruby Kisses nail polish "Crazy Night Out"  and finally, I sealed in the design with a layer of top coat.

I mixed the colors Green,Blue,Yellow,White and Red to create my desired colors.   Any color of your choice for these flowers.  It's all up to you.

372 Snow White
Over all, I love the color that it gives off at the end.  The white is really bright and opaque after three coats.

Thank you all for reading and watching my blog post today.   I wish you guys the best, and don't forget to enter the giveaway on Possibly Polished . . . The entries are very easy and the "Invent your own." is FUN!

Ruby Kisses- My "Mint" Mani For Tali Joy.

An inspiring young make-up artist, who painted "the world" with her love, her strength and her artistic skills sadly passed away. . .  at 11:22am this Tuesday (July 23rd) would make it exactly a week.  Talia Joy Castellano (13 years) died after a battle of cancer, but I'm pretty sure Talia dancing as she is no longer in pain.

After the hearing of her passing, the Nail Polish Wars on Facebook, generated an awesome idea called "#MintManisForTaliJoy" as she observed that the last picture Talia uploaded on her Instagram was a mint mani featuring the hand of Talia's hand  her mother and a friend who goes by the name of Tammy.  It was a great idea which brought all nail polish lovers and admirers both near and far to come together to make this work.   #MintManisForTaliaJoy

I was all out out of mint colored nail polish (or any color to that effect)  and I was soo bumbed out about it, but my mother and sister went away and low and behold they  brought back some nail polishes and the Teal Envy Ruby Kisses nail polish caught my eye.  It wasn't a mint or sea foam color but it was the best and the only I had.

Sorry for the crappy photo, I'm using my phone because my camera went bonkers.

First  I prepped my nail with one layer each of the Constance Carroll Nail care Base Coat (1)  and Hardener (2).  Then after I applied two coats of the Ruby Kisses Teal Envy (RNP 136).
One Coat of polish was pretty fine for me, but I loved how smoothly it was going on, so I kind of got slightly addicted and started apply layers on top of layer (I obviously removed it afterwards and then painted the real thing)

Teal Envy
Accent Nail.  A little Birdy

For my accent nail, I prefer to be different.  I love placing it on any nail except the ring finger, because I think it's to generic at this time.  I used black, yellow, red and white acrylic paint.  I mixed the colors to get the preferred colors I wanted.

When I first Looked at Talia's Vid.  She reminded me of a friend of mine.  They had the same bubbly and caring attitude, and they both loved make-up.  So That is was lured me towards her.

R.I.P Sweet Talia.

Please feel free to brows around and look at the different manis some awesome people created for Talia.  It has OVER 100  blogs and Mint Manis.
